Umer Sharif Pakistan’s King of Comedy is no more!
Sharif was hospitalized in Berlin, where he breathed his last today, aged 66.
His wife Zareen Umer confirmed the news of his death.
Umer Sharif was on his way to the US for medical treatment but had been admitted to a hospital in Germany’s Nuremberg on Wednesday after his health condition health deteriorated during the flight.
As being reported, Umer had contracted pneumonia and the dialysis treatment on Saturday proved to be fatal and the legendry comedian breath his last, aged 66.
Later in the day, Pakistan’s ambassador to Germany, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, also confirmed the news of Umer Sharif’s demise.
“With deep sorrow, it is announced that Mr. Umer Sharif has passed away in Germany,” he tweeted. “Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Our CG is present at the hospital to assist the family in every way.”
