Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat against Afghanistan in their World Cup played at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday.
Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the 22nd game of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
With the feat, the Afghan team also claimed their first win over the Men in Green in ODIs
After batting first, Pakistan bowlers were miserable and failed to defend the 282-7 target.
Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran (87), Rahmat Shah (77*), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) Hashmatullah Shahidi (48*) put on a great show with the bat.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and opener Abdullah Shafique’s half-centuries went in vain.
Afghanistan’s 18-year-old left-armer Noor Ahmad grabbed his career-best 3-49 on his World Cup debut.
