As reported, the first recipient of the brain chip, known as “telepathy,” is recovering well after the procedure performed on Sunday.
The development comes as Elon Musk’s owned company finally got its clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in May after facing much criticism.
Breaking the news to the world in a post on X, Elon Musk said, “The first human received an implant from @Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well. Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.”

The company’s goal is to connect human brains to computers, revolutionising the way patients with illnesses like Alzheimer’s are treated.

The visionary behind the project, Elon Musk said in an interview, “This ultimately has the potential to restore full body movement.
“In the long term, Neuralink hopes to play a role in AI risk reduction and civilizational risk reduction by improving human-to-AI (and human-to-human) bandwidth by several orders of magnitude. Imagine if Stephen Hawking had had this.”
