Waking up to the sad and shocking news of Irrfan Khan’s demise today was very disheartening and left me teary-eyed. Being a die-hard fan of the legendary Bollywood actor, I felt it too deep and it left me moved. Various scenes from his movies started going around in my head and I just couldn’t get over it for hours.

The actor lost the battle of life this morning in Mumbai, after being admitted to the hospital for colon infection. He was also suffering from a rare type of cancer for two years and battled it long and hard.

Well, death is the harsh reality of life and we all have to face it one day or the other.  For now, let us pay an ode to the iconic actor, and reminisce some of Khan’s best performances throughout his career span, starting from 1988 when he made his film debut.

Khan shone equally in both Bollywood and Hollywood.

He made his film debut with Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay in 1988.

Khan has starred in some massive Hollywood projects including Slumdog Millionaire, Inferno, Life Of Pi, and Jurassic World to name a few.

In Bollywood, the movie that allowed him to steal everyone’s hearts was the romantic drama The Lunchbox in 2013.

His other notable Bollywood films include Haider, Piku, Hindi Medium, Qissa among various others.

His last release was Angrezi Medium after which he was asked not to shoot for a few months due to his deteriorating health. The movie was put up in theatres for only one day, after which coronavirus lockdown was imposed in India.
