Pakistani celebs pay tribute to the iconic singer Shaukat Ali who passed away in Lahore on Friday.

Shaukat Ali gave almost 55 years of his life to the world of art, during which he sang not only Punjabi folk songs but also mystical verses while he also recorded songs in Urdu and as well as gazals.

However, Shaukat Ali’s national songs that he particularly sang during the 1965 and 71 war made him a popular hero.

In the days of the 1965 Pakistan-India war, he recorded a song, “Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan, Saathiyo, Mujahido” which became his trademark and is still popular today.

Shaukat Ali was awarded the Presidential Medal of Excellence in 1990 for his artistic services.

Paying tribute to the veteran singer, Atif Aslam in a tweet said, “Deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Shaukat Ali Khan Sb. His immense contribution to traditional folk music stands unparalleled. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May Allah forgive him and grant patience to his loved ones.”


Famous Pakistani film actor Shaan Shahid also expressed grief over the death of renowned folk singer Shaukat Ali and said that Shaukat Ali’s work will always be remembered.

Actor Shaan shared a memorable photo of singer Shaukat Ali on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

“Rest in peace Shaukat Ali Sb indeed you have served this nation with all your love, talent, and hard work. Your contributions will always be remembered by all of us
May ALLAH bless your soul.” the Waar star tweeted.

 

Legendary singer Ataullah Khan Essa Khelvi has released a video message expressing grief over the death of folk singer Shaukat Ali.

Ataullah Khan Essa Khelvi said in his video message that “one day everyone has to leave, Shaukat Ali also left but left his fond memories.”

He said, “Shaukat Ali Bhai has left us. May Allah have mercy on him.”

He said that Shaukat Ali was a very beautiful singer, a very beautiful man. No matter how much he is praised, now there are only prayers for him.
