Pinjra Episode-12 Review: As feared, Abhaan’s drug test comes positive

ARY Digital’s drama serial Pinjra is an excellent serial in the running, carrying great messaging on parenting and also highlighting other numerous issues. Performances are simply outstanding, particularly the performances by the young stars. Hadiqa Kiani and Omair Rana have given their best in this serial. In the previous episode we have seen that with Umer’s death, things have gotten messier for Abhaan. In this episode, Abhaan’s drug test comes positive.
With Umer’s death, things have gotten worse for Abhaan, he is in a greater mess now. On top of that Umer’s father is using all his influence to drag Abhaan into this case. He has bought Abhaan’s lawyer by offering him a hefty amount of money. Abhaan’s lawyer is making sure not to let Abhaan come out of the remand house. Abhaan’s bail gets cancelled for the second time too.
When Wajiha’s neighbour has informed Wajiha that the lawyer is being a party with Umer’s father, the first thing to do is to change the lawyer, Jawaid creates a lot of fuss about that. Jawaid has expressed all his frustration with Wajiha calling her characterless. Wajiha still makes sure that she is with Khadija at such a difficult time. Well, we all need friends like Farjaad and Wajiha in our lives.
Umer’s funeral has shown in this episode. In fact in this episode story wise not much happened. Jawaid chooses a very bad time to face Umer’s father. He goes to his house at Umer’s funeral where Umer’s father has cursed Jawaid that like he has lost his son, he will also lose his son. It is shown that even at his son’s funeral he is planning to drag Abhaan more and more into this case and for that he is bribing his own lawyer with a handsome amount of money.
The drug issue is also very intelligently highlighted in this drama serial. Abhaan is getting withdrawal symptoms and he fell ill. His blood tests detect drugs. Police raid his house and there they find drugs in his room. Police also investigate the school and his peer circle which is a good thing. Jawaid’s reaction to this is quite predictable. He puts all the blame on Khadija and yells at her like a madman. Jawaid’s frustration is understandable but he cannot put the whole blame on his wife it is the duty of both of them to raise their kids. Jawaid continuously gaslights Khadija and gets away with it. Will this drug factor further make Abhaan’s case worsen?
