Amitabh Bachchan doesn’t want to be called ‘anti-nationalist’, declines role to play Pakistani

Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan has said no to the role of a Pakistani, as he doesn’t want to call an anti-nationalist.

As being reported, Big- B was all set to play a Pakistani protagonist in Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty’s directorial debut.

However, the current ongoing tensions between the two countries, ever since the Pulwama attack, made Amitabh Bachchan decide to back out from the project.

According to a news source, “Resul had been discussing the script for his directorial debut with Bachchan Saab for two years now. He loved the peace message in Resul’s Indo-Pak story. Resul waited for Bachchan Saab’s dates and they were finally supposed to go on the floors, but because of the worsening relations between the two countries, Bachchan Saab had second thoughts”.

And the source further claims that the Bollywood’s veteran actor wouldn’t want to be labeled ‘anti-national’ or embroiled in any controversies.

Amitabh Bachchan is reported to be currently busy in shooting for upcoming Hindi-Tamil bilingual film, Tera Yaar Hoon Main starring actors S.J. Suryah and Baahubali famed actor Ramya Krishnan.
