K-pop sensation BTS on top of Billboard 200 charts

BTS, the seven-member boy-band continues to have a strong presence on Billboard’s World Albums chart, claiming the top position again.

Billboard on Monday announced, “BTS is bound for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their latest release, Map of the Soul: Persona”.

Just in two days after the release of their new album, BTS has continued with the band’s habit of nurturing their music with rich and profound lyrics that reference different forms of art, with literature being its ultimate muse.

As being reported, for the week ending on April 13th in that particular US chart, BTS’ releases have acquired the Top 2 spots.

BTS’s album, Love Yourself: Tear, was rooted at No. 1, while Love Yourself: Answer took the second spot.

BTS’ other album, Face Yourself, made it to the No. 7 spot. Along with them, the K-Pop juggernaut’s little brother band, TXT, from the same agency, Big Hit Entertainment, came in at 14th spot with its debut release, The Dream Chapter: Star.

It’s going to be the third time that the K-pop band has taken the top ranking on the chart, after making it to the top position last year, that too twice.

As being reported Billboard is expected to reveal the chart’s top 10 artists for the week of April 27, on 21st April, in which the Korean band is expected to come out on top.

BTS’ new album, released on Friday, was an immediate success, with hit track Boy with Luv becoming the fastest YouTube video ever to hit 100 million views, which remarkably reached the milestone in just 38 hours.

The song also ranked third on Spotify’s global top 200 charts on Sunday, which is the Sweden-based world’s largest music streaming service.

Spotify has also announced that BTS is the first K-Pop group and Asian act overall, to surpass 5 billion streams on the platform.

Winning first spot on the Billboard 200 and strong chart performances on Spotify, iTunes indicate that BTS has secured a universal fandom.
