Easy Recipe: Chicken Tikka Makhni Handi

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken: 1 kg
  • Dahi (yougurt): 500 grams
  • Onions: 3
  • Fresh cream: 1 packet
  • Lehsan (garlic) paste: 1 and half teaspoon
  • Adrak (ginger) paste: 1 teaspoon
  • Red chillies crushed: 2-3 teaspoon
  • Paprika: 2-3 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala: 1 and half teaspoon
  • Vinegar: 2/3 tablespoon
  • Soy Sauce: 2/3 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice: 3 tablespoon
  • Haldi (turmeric): A pinch
  • Butter: Half a slab (preferably Blue Band, half a slab of 250 grams)
  • Salt: To taste
  • Oil to cook

Cooking time: 1 hour

Recipe

Marinate boneless chicken with yogurt, garlic paste, garam masala, red chillies crushed, paprika, vinegar, soy sauce, turmeric powder and salt. Leave the marinated chicken for two/three hours at least.

Take three onions and blend them to a pulp by adding some water. In a pot, preferably a handi, pour the onion paste and ginger paste and cook until the water has dried.  Now add marinated chicken and add oil. One cup oil should be sufficient in 1kg of chicken. Leave the mixture to cook until the chicken is tender and all water has dried. High flame for 10 minutes, medium flame for 15 minutes. Again high flame for 10 minutes. When the oil leaves the curry, add lemon juice and cook for a minute. Check for salt and chilli. If less, add more crushed red chillies and salt according to taste. Add butter to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add fresh cream to the curry and cook with covered lid for 5 minutes.

Now heat coal on high flame. When the coal is ready, put it between the curry on aluminium foil piece. Pour oil over the coal and cover the lid for 5 minutes.

Tasty chicken tikka, makhni handi is ready.
