OUT! Stumped. Adil Rashid to Trent Boult. Leg spinner length ball, middle stump on the front foot defending, missed to wicketkeeper, by Buttler. Boult tries to come down but can't get there, the ball turns sharply and Buttler has the bails off before Boult can stretch his foot back into his crease. That's a comprehensive victory for England. When it really mattered most they've come up trumps, beating both India and now New Zealand. England look a lot better for having Roy back in the side but it's the other opener who will again take the plaudits today. Bairstow scored his second ton in as many games as England piled on the runs when the ball was hard. Their innings flopped a little at the end but in the second half they were on top from the very first over, England's fast bowling unit impressing once again. That's all from me here in sunny Durham, England qualify for the semi-finals as in all likelihood will New Zealand despite this loss.

OUT! Bowled. Tim Southee to Adil Rashid. Yorker, middle stump backing away driving, missed to. A very good yorker from Southee, Rashid was looking to give himself room again and had no chance of hitting that.

FOUR! Matt Henry to Liam Plunkett. Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control past deep square leg for 4 runs. Heaved away legside and it's in the gap, these are all valuable runs for England.
48.1

FOUR! Matt Henry to Adil Rashid. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Makes room and hits over the top of cover, good batting from Rashid.

W
OUT! Caught. Matt Henry to Eoin Morgan. Slower length ball, middle stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to extra cover, by Santner. Hit straight to extra cover. Fingers down the side from Henry and Morgan was there a fraction too early and hit the ball in the air. Santner almost made a mess of the catch but held on above his head. That's a good wicket for New Zealand.

FOUR! Trent Boult to Eoin Morgan. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Four more, on the pull this time, this is a good over for England.
45.1
4
FOUR! Trent Boult to Eoin Morgan. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, in the air under control past long off for 4 runs. Driven and over mid-off for four, Morgan got just enough on that one.

44.5
W
OUT! Caught. Jimmy Neesham to Chris Woakes. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, in the air uncontrolled to mid off, by Williamson. Another one gone. England can't find the boundary at all now, the softer ball holding in the pitch a bit more and making it harder to time the ball. Woakes tries to drive but hits it in the air and straight to mid-off. England are under pressure here.
In over# 42
Runs : 0 Bowler: Mitchell Santner Wickets : 1
41.6
W
OUT! Caught. Mitchell Santner to Ben Stokes. Stock length ball, to leg down the track driving, in the air uncontrolled to long on, by Henry. Frustration turns into a wicket, Ben Stokes the latest scalp for New Zealand. The Kiwis have done really well to come back into this after England got off to a flying start. Stokes tried to take Santner on down the ground but the spinner was cramping the left-handers for room and he's picked out long on.

Runs : 4 Bowler: Mitchell Santner Wickets : 0
39.6
4
FOUR! Mitchell Santner to Eoin Morgan. Stock ball full toss, down leg side on the front foot sweeping, past fine leg for 4 runs. Down the legside and swept away, that's England's first boundary for a while, not the best over from Santner.
In over# 36
Runs : 8 Bowler: Tim Southee Wickets : 0
35.4
4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Eoin Morgan. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, past deep backward point for 4 runs. That's a better shot from Morgan, struck crisply and it beats the fielder at third man.
35.3
4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Eoin Morgan. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, Gloved in the air uncontrolled past fine leg for 4 runs. Short but not bowled with any real menace by Southee. Even so it took the glove of Morgan but went wide of the keeper luckily for him.
In over# 35
Runs : 0 Bowler: Trent Boult Wickets : 1
34.2
W
OUT! Caught. Trent Boult to Jos Buttler. Slower length ball, middle stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed to mid off, by Williamson. Well that's another one gone, New Zealand are kicking and screaming their way back into this game. Buttler completely mis-hit that drive, the bat turning in his hand and it was an easy catch for Williamson at mid-off. Lovely execution of the knuckle ball from Trent Boult, deceiving Jos Buttler there.
In over# 32
Runs : 4 Bowler: Matt Henry Wickets : 1
31.4
W
OUT! Bowled. Matt Henry to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. He's gone this time, a big inside edge back into middle and leg. Not for the first time this week a man gets to a hundred and is out shortly afterwards. Two wickets in two overs for New Zealand might just help them put the brakes on this England innings.
31.2
4
FOUR! Matt Henry to Jonny Bairstow. Slower ball half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Slow and wide but too full and Bairstow crashes it through extra cover for four.

Runs : 4 Bowler: Trent Boult Wickets : 1

4
FOUR! Trent Boult to Jos Buttler. Half volley, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Buttler is away with a powerful drive through the covers, lovely way to get off the mark.
30.1
W
OUT! Caught. Trent Boult to Joe Root. Bouncer, down leg side on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Latham. New Zealand think there's a nick on that and there is. Root has tickled one chasing a short ball down the legside. Well, Root's gone for a review but all the Kiwi players were convinced he's hit it. Here comes UltraEdge and there's a definite tremor as the ball is next to the bat and Root will have to go.
In over# 30
Runs : 8 Bowler: Tim Southee Wickets : 0
29.6
4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Jonny Bairstow. Full toss, to leg on the front foot working, past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. A full toss runs away from the fielder and into the rope and Bairstow goes to his second successive century. Two massive games in a row for England and this man has delivered in both of them.
29.4
4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Jonny Bairstow. Leg cutter short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control past deep square leg for 4 runs. Too short and legside with the slower ball and Bairstow puts it away behind square.
In over# 28
Runs : 6 Bowler: Tim Southee Wickets : 0
27.5
6
SIX! Tim Southee to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, in the air under control over long on for 6 runs. Well I was about to say that there hasn't been a boundary for a few overs but Bairstow has just launched Southee back over his head for six. He's made batting look easy out there today.
In over# 24
Runs : 8 Bowler: Mitchell Santner Wickets : 0
23.4
4
FOUR! Mitchell Santner to Joe Root. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot reverse sweeping, in the air under control past third man for 4 runs. Pre-meditated reverse paddle from Root and he plays it really nicely, popping the ball over the keeper and the fielder can't catch up with it.
23.1
4
FOUR! Mitchell Santner to Jonny Bairstow. Stock ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Dropped short and Bairstow is quick onto the back foot again and pulls hard to the boundary.
In over# 22
Runs : 4 Bowler: Mitchell Santner Wickets : 0
21.2
4
FOUR! Mitchell Santner to Jonny Bairstow. Stock ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, past deep square leg for 4 runs. Gets on the back foot quickly and swivels, controlling the shot rather than trying to hit the ball too hard to make sure the ball didn't creep under his bat.
In over# 20
Runs : 4 Bowler: Tim Southee Wickets : 0
19.5
4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Jonny Bairstow. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Pulled hard by Bairstow. It was only a fraction too short but there's no margin for error on a good pitch when batsmen are in this sort of form.
In over# 19
Runs : 8 Bowler: Jimmy Neesham Wickets : 1
18.4
W
OUT! Caught. Jimmy Neesham to Jason Roy. Length ball, outside off stump no foot movement pushing, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to extra cover, by Santner. Well this time it's full and Roy chips the ball up tamely to extra cover. He is furious with himself, there were plenty more runs out there for the taking. His feet went nowhere at all which is strange for someone batting so well. There was nothing special about the delivery from Neesham but it's got him a wicket.
18.3
4
FOUR! Jimmy Neesham to Jason Roy. Short, outside off stump on the front foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Short again and a similar result, slightly more orthodox from Roy this time as he smashes a pull shot over mid-wicket.
18.2
4
FOUR! Jimmy Neesham to Jason Roy. Short, outside off stump on the front foot pulling, in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. Stand and deliver from Jason Roy. Bowled short by Neesham and slapped over mid-on for four.

14.6
4
FOUR! Colin de Grandhomme to Jonny Bairstow. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Late Cut, well timed past third man for 4 runs. And again, off the back foot this time and Bairstow hits that same gap, four more.
14.2
4
FOUR! Colin de Grandhomme to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, well timed past third man for 4 runs. Lovely placement from Bairstow. There are two fielders behind square on the offside both inside the circle as de Grandhomme isn't quick. Bairstow opened the face of the bat and found the gap between the two men perfectly.

4
FOUR! Matt Henry to Jason Roy. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled past fine leg for 4 runs. That was a well-directed bumper from Henry and it hurried Roy. The ball took the top edge and almost went for six over the keeper's head. It got lost in the sheets that are folded up behind the boundary back there for a few minutes and in the end it was Latham who found it.

FOUR! Trent Boult to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Well the ball isn't swinging anymore and the it's is angling across the right-hander. Bairstow sees width and crashes the ball through the covers with another big drive.

4
FOUR! Tim Southee to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, in the air under control past deep cover for 4 runs. Driven in the air again and it just clears the leap of Mitchell Santner at cover point. He's a tall man with long arms but even he couldn't quite get high enough to take the catch.
4.3

FOUR! Mitchell Santner to Jason Roy. Arm ball full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. That's a freebie, Santner misses the pitch and Roy dispatches the full toss to the cover boundary to get off the mark.

W
OUT!

OUT! Bowled. Mark Wood to Matt Henry. Length ball, outside off stump backing away driving, missed to. Fast and straight and Henry was backing away and failed to make contact. Wood bowled a couple of nasty short balls in his last over prompting that footwork from Henry.

W
OUT! L.B.W. Mark Wood to Mitchell Santner. Length ball, outside off stump moves in front working, hit pad to. That looks very out. Santner has reviewed but not because he thinks he's not out. He walked across his stumps and was looking to turn the ball legside but Wood aimed at the stumps. It's hit in line and hitting middle and leg and Wood picks up another wicket.

W
OUT! Caught. Liam Plunkett to Tom Latham. Off cutter short, outside off stump moves in front pulling, Gloved in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Buttler. Plunkett digs a cutter in short and it loops up quite high off the pitch. Latham tried to pull it towards fine leg but the tennis ball bounce did for him and the ball came off his glove. Unlike his earlier effort Buttler had a very easy catch to take.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Mitchell Santner. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep cover for 4 runs. Again there's a man diving to try and save a boundary and this time Bairstow might have hurt himself out there. The ball went for four anyway too.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Tom Latham. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Just out of reach of Morgan at mid-wicket and it beats the diving effort of the man in the deep.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Tom Latham. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long on for 4 runs. Latham did well to wait for that slower ball before punching it down the ground for four.

OUT! Caught. Ben Stokes to Colin de Grandhomme. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air uncontrolled to deep square leg, by Root. Ben Stokes strikes with his first ball. It wasn't a very threatening one but de Grandhomme hit it straight down the throat of Joe Root at deep backward square leg and New Zealand lose another.

OUT! Bowled. Mark Wood to Jimmy Neesham. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, inside edge to. Dragged back into off stump and Wood celebrates. It was pitched up to the batsman, fuller than Neesham perhaps expected and his feet didn't move very much. It wasn't really the right shot for the delivery but Neesham was perhaps unfortunate the ball went back into the stumps.

FOUR! Liam Plunkett to Tom Latham. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Very pure timing from Latham, he's looking better today than he has throughout much of the tournament so far.

FOUR! Joe Root to Jimmy Neesham. Off break back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed past deep point for 4 runs. Too short from Root, he hasn't quite found the right length yet and Neesham punished him that time.

FOUR! Adil Rashid to Tom Latham. Slider back of a length, middle stump on the back foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Another lovely drive off the back foot against the spinner from Latham and that's four more.

FOUR! Adil Rashid to Tom Latham. Leg spinner back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Nicely put away off the back foot by Latham, that's his first boundary, short and wide from Rashid.

OUT! Run Out. Liam Plunkett to Ross Taylor. Off cutter back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot working, to fine leg for 1 run, fielded by Rashid, by Buttler. The very next over and Ross Taylor has run himself out. New Zealand are hitting the self-destruct button here. It was a good bit of work from Rashid, a quick pick up and deadly accurate throw on the bounce. A needless risk though from Taylor.

FOUR! Mark Wood to Ross Taylor. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Taylor gets the pull shot well in front of square and a long chase ends in Bairstow diving but not quite managing to keep the ball in play with his flick back.

OUT! Run Out. Mark Wood to Ross Taylor. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to silly mid on, direct hit by Wood. Well would you believe it. We've seen this happen once or twice in this World Cup but for it to happen to your best batsman in an important run chase is pretty unlucky. Taylor pushed the ball back down the ground and Mark Wood stretched out his right hand towards the ball. The ball then hit the stumps at the bowler's end and Williamson wasn't back in his crease. There were several replays to check whether Wood touched it but there was a clear deviation off his middle finger and New Zealand's star man is gone.

FOUR! Mark Wood to Kane Williamson. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep backward point for 4 runs. Stands up tall and uses the touch of width on offer to play through backward point with good timing.

FOUR! Jofra Archer to Ross Taylor. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. That ball goes racing to the cover boundary off the middle of Taylor's bat, just a touch full from Archer and there was no sideways movement.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Kane Williamson. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, past third man for 4 runs. That's classic Williamson. First slip had gone wider and amazingly Williamson managed to guide the ball between him and the keeper.

OUT! Caught. Jofra Archer to Martin Guptill. Short, middle stump on the back foot glancing, Gloved in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Buttler. Off the glove and brilliantly taken down the legside by Jos Buttler diving to his left. He was at full stretch and took it in one hand. Pace and bounce from Archer and he hurried Guptill as he tried to turn the ball away legside. The ball flicked the glove and great work from Buttler behind the stumps.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Martin Guptill. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Nice shot, Guptill playing with the full face of the bat and showing off the maker's name. Woakes got a touch but the ball still ran all the way for four.

OUT! L.B.W. Chris Woakes to Henry Nicholls. Seaming in back of a length, to leg on the back foot working, to. Given out first ball! Well I didn't think that was out at first look so I'm surprised Nicholls didn't review. Perhaps they didn't want to risk losing it in the first over. There were questions over pitching in line and height for me but S Ravi stuck his finger up. Here comes our first look at Hawk-Eye, it was going over the top. Had Nicholls reviewed he'd still be there.
