WorCup 2023 final: Ahmedabad Crowd Slammed For Stunned Silence, ‘Disrespecting’ Players
The most silent crowd in the history of Cricket, netizens criticized

The crowd present at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to watch the India vs Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final is being slammed on social media for ‘disrespecting’ players and not giving enough support to the teams in action.
On Sunday, reportedly one lakh 30 thousand people, dressed in blue, came out to support the Indian team in their quest for the ODI World Cup title but as Australia dominated proceedings of the final, the crowd turned unruly.
Indian fans were left disappointed after Australia beat India by six wickets to win their sixth Cricket World Cup title at Ahmedabad‘s Narendra Modi Stadium.
The attendees also included high-profile Bollywood celebrities, BCCI officials and Indian Prime Minister Modi along with his cabinet members.
Australia skipper Pat Cummins had cleared his objective of ‘silencing the crowd’ before the World Cup final and his side proved it.
Several social media users called out the Indian crowd’s silence in the match and slammed them for disrespecting the Australian team as well as the match officials.
"Indian crowd is usually amazing but crowd at Ahmedabad is not, they booed Babar in the first match too. We wanted to silence this crowd in the last match. Thats why I said it and we did it"

POOR AHMEDABAD!!👎 – The closing ceremony of WorldCup hosted by BCCI has been conducted infront of zero indian fans in such a stadium which could accomodate one lac plus spectators. Such is a poor sportsman spirit shown by the sick Ahmedabad crowd. #CWC23 pic.twitter.com/wvIH88MEnm

Last word
The Ahmedabad crowd was rubbish
Need proper fans inside a stadium instead of fly by night pretendersLike the amazing people at Wankhede
Proper fans
Cheered the team on and especially Shami post the dropped catch
Chanted his name non stopBoosted him and the team…

The crowd booed the umpires as well. What is wrong with Ahmedabad seriously? What's the literacy rate there? #INDvsAUSfinal pic.twitter.com/aNNmqCWmeN

130K Ahmedabad crowd is less noiser than 35k Chinnaswamy.
You can build the stadium but can't build the passion.
Bengaluru was given associate match. Never forget.

A word about the Ahmedabad crowd
Graceless enough to walk away before the presentations
Unable to lift the Indian team at any stage
Crass enough to boo the umpires
Not even a small clap for HeadThis happens when cricket is held hostage to the ego of two megalomaniacs #CWC23

Imagine having a stadium with more than 1.2 lac people in Ahmedabad yet Virat Kohli & Indian team players having to plead to dead silent crowd to get behind team when things aren't going India's way against Australia in a World Cup Finals, Embarrassing Venue!

Cant blame the Ahmedabad crowd for their graceless conduct. Most of them had come to Chant Modi Modi or maybe even religious slogans. Being graceful, applauding fantastic performance of opponents and giving them due respect in true sporting spirit was not something they knew

Please do a favour to India's sports loving public
Stop hosting every opening & closing match in Ahmedabad
Capacity is not everything, there are things such as passion, 'spirit of cricket', enthusiasm & knowledge too
Give Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai & Bangalore their due
