New Zealand bids farewell to 2020, welcomes 2021

New Zealand becomes one of the first countries in the world to welcome the New Year 2021.

The geographical position close to the International Date Line leads New Zealand to welcome a new Solar Year each time.

Fireworks were let off in some areas, including Tauranga’s waterfront, and in Auckland, a light display on the Harbour Bridge illuminated the city’s skyline.

However, like the rest of the world this time New Year Celebrations are not the same amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
