Sindh announces public holiday on March 23

The government of Sindh announced a public holiday on March 23.

A notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department of Sindh in this regard stated, “The Government of Sindh declares 23rd March 2023 (Thursday) as Public Holiday on the occasion of “Pakistan Day” throughout the Province of Sindh,”

However, the public holiday does not apply to essential services, including those engaged in Covid-19 and flood relief duties.

Furthermore, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also declared a bank holiday on March 23, 2023, on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

The central bank in a statement stated that the State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on 23rd March 2023 (Thursday) being a public holiday on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange will also remain closed on account of Pakistan Day on March 23.
