Sarmad Khoosat left puzzled after his name removed from Presidential Awards list

Sarmad Khoosat has been left puzzled after his name was removed from the Presidential Awards list.

Pakistan’s prominent actor and director Sarmad Khoosat was named in the time-honored Sitar-e-Imtiaz list in August 2023 for his contributions to the entertainment industry in the country.

However, his name was taken off the list just days ahead as the awards will be officially announced on 23 March commemorating top achievements in Pakistan.

Taking it to Instagram stories, Sarmad sharing the new list revealed that his name was no longer added to it.

“My name has vanished from the 14 August ’23 list of Presidential Awards that everyone ‘officially’ and unofficially congratulated me for,” he wrote, adding “Please take your Mubaraks back.”

Well, the names on the list from the showbiz fraternity include Adnan Siddiqui, Zubaida (Naghma), and Hassan Askari, who have been recognized for contributions to acting, hosting, and film direction, respectively, along with Naseer Baig Mirza (writer, producer), Ajab Khan (calligrapher, painter), and Baqir Abbas (flute player).

Furthermore, renowned Grammy winner Arooj Aftab has been conferred with a Pride of Performance – the highest literary award for displaying excellence in art and music.
