Vietnamese model in trouble for sporting skimpy dress at Cannes film festival

Vietnamese fashion designer and model is facing punishment in her home country for sporting a skimpy dress at the Cannes Film Festival, in May.

Vietnamese officials are set to fine model Ngoc Trinh saying it was so sexy it should be illegal. She will face an investigation under public decency laws, that could land her with a heavy fine.

According to the report, Ngoc Trinh, 29, wore the flimsy, see-through black gown which has caused an outrage in Vietnam.

“Her outfit was improper, offensive and has caused public outrage,” Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Vietnam’s minister of culture, sports and tourism, said afterward, according to the Sun.

Furthermore, the minister ordered an investigation into whether Trinh violated Vietnam’s public decency laws by wearing the dress, even though she did so far from home. If proven  guilty, she could face a heavy fine,

According to VNExpress, during the National Assembly session in Hanoi, Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, told legislators Wednesday that Trihn’s ‘outfit was improper, offensive and has caused public outrage’ in their home country.
