Sri Lanka were bowled out at the mere score of 50 while batting first.

India bulldozes the defending champions Sri Lanka to lift their 8th Asia Cup title on Sunday!

The final played at the Premadasa Stadium, Colombo was a total one-sided affair as India easily chased down Sri Lanka’s target of just 51 runs in 6.1 overs.

India won the match by 10 wickets to become the Asian champions.

Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten by scoring 27 runs and 23 runs respectively for India.

Sri Lanka was set for a painfully massive defeat as they opted to bat first after winning the toss.

Sri Lanka’s batting started with a delay due to a wet outfield after the rain, but as soon as the match started, the Sri Lankan batting line-up faltered.

Asia Cup Final: India’s Siraj’s devastating bowling spell blows away Sri Lankan batting lineup

Sri Lanka’s first six batsmen were bowled out for just 12 runs while the entire Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 50 runs in 15.2 overs.

Indian bowler Muhammad Siraj took 6 wickets by giving 21 runs while doing devastating bowling, while Hardik Pandya dismissed 3 players and one wicket fell to Bumrah.

9 Sri Lankan players could not even enter double figures, Sri Lankan Kaushal Mendes was outstanding by scoring 17 runs, and five Sri Lankan players were bowled out for zero.

Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, and Dhananjaya de Silva by the end of the fourth over, taking 4 wickets in a single over.

The latest feat makes Siraj currently holds the record for the best bowling figures by a pace bowler in the Asia Cup. Previously Aaqib Javed held the record with his 5/19 against India at Sharjah in 1995.
