Pakistan to host Kabaddi World Cup 2020

Pakistan will be hosting the Kabaddi World Cup 2020 which is scheduled to take place from 12 to 18 January, reviving the traditional sport.

The announcement was made by Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, with Secretory Rana Sarwar at a presser on Thursday.

The matches of the tournament will take place in Lahore, Faislabad, Kartarpur and Nankana Sahib, while the final will be held in Lahore.

According to the details shared by the Pakistan Kabbadi Federation chief, there will be 10 teams participating in the tournament.

He also added that India has also expressed its desire to participate in the World Cup, however, Indian participation is dependent on the country’s security conditions.

Teams from Pakistan, India, Iran, Canada, Australia, United States, Sierra Leone, and Kenya have qualified for the event so far.

The winning team will win a cash prize of one crore rupees, and the runner up will receive 75 lakhs rupees. For the third runner up team 50 lakh rupees is the price money.

The Kabaddi World Cup will be played in the circle style format.
