Blackpink’s Jisoo Appointed Dior’s New Global Ambassador.
French luxury giant Dior has appointed Kim Ji-soo, better known to Blackpink fans mononymously as Jisoo, its new global ambassador for both fashion and beauty.
The announcement was made by a French luxury giant on its social media channels.
In a statement, Dior said Jisoo was a key inspiration for designer Maria Grazia Chiuri’s autumn-winter collection.
“A member of the girl group @BLACKPINKofficial — embodies with her singular audacity, the House’s modernity and the passionate creativity of @MariaGraziaChiuri, who was inspired by the Korean singer for her #DiorFall2021 collection,” Dior wrote in its Instagram announcement.

Jisoo featured in Dior’s Fall 2021 runway show, which debuted on Monday online.

While the K-pop star also acknowledged her excitement for being appointed as the brand ambassador.
In her social media post, Jisoo wrote: “So thrilled to join @dior as their new global ambassador for both fashion and beauty! I can’t wait for all the exciting work we’ll do together.”
Jisoo was featured in Dior’s highest-rated Instagram post during Paris Fashion Week last fall, generating $614,000 in Media Impact Value which is more than double its top post from the previous season.
The European luxury brands are turning to Asian stars for ambassador roles as they have a massive fan following across the globe. Many K-pop idols can be seen collaborating with international luxury fashion brands from Givenchy to Gucci.
When it comes to the South Korean girl band, Blackpink women have quickly become high-fashion favorites.
Last September, Lisa was crowned as Celine’s brand ambassador, the first under designer Hedi Slimante. Meanwhile, Jennie made a deal with Chanel while Rosé is busy working with Saint Laurent.
As a group, the Blackpink ladies have been busy churning out Adidas campaigns, as well.

By roping in Jisoo who has a handsome number of social media followers, 37 million on Instagram only, Dior is obviously hoping to cash in the incredibly popular singer and actress to amplifying its online fashion activities.
