Here is the first look at ‘JOKER 2’ as the production of the much-anticipated sequel kicks off!
Director Todd Phillips teased fans by sharing an image with an announcement revealing “day one” of work on the film on Saturday afternoon.
While the filmmakers have kept tight-lipped about Joker 2, it is assumed that the sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux” will pick up with Phoenix’s killer clown after he’s been admitted to Arkham Asylum.
The filmmaker shared an image of Joaquin Phoenix in character as Arthur Fleck with the caption “Day 1. Our boy. #joker.”
The first image from the set reveals that the homicidal Arkham Asylum convict is lying dead-eyed as he’s receiving a shave from what appears to be an orderly at the facility.
Phoenix, who won the Oscar for best actor for his performance in the R-rated original 2019 film, seems to have readopted the wiry physique.

Joaquin Phoenix will be returning back as Arthur Fleck in Joker: Folie à Deux. Lady Gaga co-stars in the sequel, due out on October 4, 2024.
