Jamie Foxx accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed in New York City

Lawsuit alleges the Hollywood star assaulted a woman while at Catch NYC & Roof, a restaurant and rooftop bar, in 2015

Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has been accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed in New York City!

As reported, a lawsuit filed in New York City on Wednesday alleges he groped a woman at a rooftop bar and restaurant in Manhattan eight years ago.

The plaintiff said the assault occurred in a secluded corner of the Catch NYC rooftop lounge after she and a friend had approached the film star and had their pictures taken with him.

The plaintiff was identified in the complaint as Jane Doe in court documents and is also suing Catch NYC & Roof and its owner Mark Birnbaum, alleging they were “negligent” and “failed to use reasonable care to prevent the acts described” in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges that in August 2015, Foxx made comments such as, “Wow, you have that supermodel body,” while at Catch NYC & Roof, a restaurant and rooftop bar, before grabbing the woman by the arm and pulling her to the “secluded” back of the rooftop.

It added that there was “heinous touching and sexual assault” which has resulted in “severe emotional distress and anxiety” as well as post-traumatic stress disorder for the woman.

The lawsuit, filed at the New York Supreme Court, alleges that Oscar-winner Foxx – real name Eric Bishop – was “operating through his position as a well-known celebrity”.
