New ‘Jurassic World’ Film in Works, Gets 2025 Release Date

The film is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.

A new Jurassic World film is reported to be in works at the Universal Pictures.

According to the news source, David Leitch is in early talks to direct the next film in the billion-dollar franchise.

The new film slated for 2025 release is going to be a completely fresh take on a Jurassic era.

Leitch will be the biggest director to join the franchise since Steven Spielberg directed the first two instalments based on the Michael Crichton bestseller.

Meanwhile, Jurassic World castmembers Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to return, nor are the original trilogy’s thespians Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill.

David Koepp, the original screenwriter of “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” will write the script for the new film.

Koepp has some notable scripts to his credit in his 30-plus year screenwriting career including Mission: Impossible,” “Spider-Man,” “Death Becomes Her,” “Panic Room” and “War of the Worlds.”

As reported, the film will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment.

David Leitch’s latest directorial is Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling-led action comedy “The Fall Guy,” releasing on May 3.

Leitch has some of the great Hollywood hits at the box office to his directorial credit including “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Fast & Furious” spinoff “Hobbes & Shaw,” and “Deadpool 2.″
