Ali Zafar submits plea for criminal proceedings against Meesha Shafi

Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi sexual harassment controversy entered a new phase, as Ali Zafar on Saturday has filed a petition against Meesha Shafi for submitting an allegedly fake affidavit in the civil court.

The petition pleaded that the statement filed by Meesha Shafi is full of contradictions related to the dates and sequence of events.

“The events that Meesha promised and claimed took place afterward”, it further said.

Meanwhile, Shafi’s counsel has requested an adjournment and did not question the witnesses presented by Zafar in the civil court. The court has reserved its verdict over the adjournment.

It was last year when Ali Zafar had filed a defamation suit in a district court against Meesha Shafi, claiming damages of Rs.1 billion filed under the Defamation Ordinance 2002.

This came in response for the claims of sexual harassment made by the pop singer turned actress Meesha Shafi over social media.
