Veteran Pakistani actor Rashid Mahmood has received a new cheque from Pakistan Television (PTV) as compensation after he got an amount of Rs 650 from the government-owned channel in his pay where he have worked around 50 years.

The actor turned to the micro-blogging website Twitter revealing that the management of PTV has sent apologies to him with a new cheque of Rs 9600 for the services he had rendered two years ago.

The veteran actor in his tweet said that he will never use the amount that PTV has sent to him instead he will frame both the cheques and decorate them in his drawing room.

Mahmood further announced that he will never work with the channel ever again and would only prefer work with the private channels’ productions.

Note that the actor is also the recipient of Pride of Performance Award from the government of Pakistan.

Earlier on Sunday, Rashid Mahmood lashed out against PTV on social media over unfair compensation for his work sharing a picture of a cheque given to him by PTV disclosing that he had got only Rs 620

“For the past two years, I hadn’t really received any work opportunities from PTV. If all work was put on hold then it’s fine if I too wasn’t receiving any opportunities. During Muharram, Pakistan Television Lahore commissioned me to recite Mir Anees’s marsiya. I recorded it and it aired on the 9th and 10th Muharram multiple times. After two years the cheque I received, was Rs 620,” the actor said.
