The biopic Rawalpindi Express teaser has been released amidst a legal tiff!
The teaser reveals the lead cast including Mirza Gohar Rasheed who has stepped in to play the cricketing legend instead of Umair Jaswal.
Shot over 47 locations over 68 days, the film has been made by Muhammad Faraz Qaiser and produced by Kafeel Anwar.
The other cast includes Faran Tahir, Saleem Mairaj, Raheela Agha, Salman Shahid, Shafqat Cheema, Usman Peerzada, Umer Aalam, Hamza Khawaja, Rabita Ali, Faiza Khan, Omair Rana, Adnan Shah Tipu, Rahim Pardesi, Hammad Siddique, and Baatin Farouqi.

The biopic titled Rawalpindi Express was announced last year in July, however, Akhtar in Jn 2023, announced that he has disassociated himself from ‘Rawalpindi Express’ and its makers by terminating the agreement through his management and legal teams.
Citing “disagreements” and “contractual violations”, Shoaib Akhtar also threatened “legal action” against anyone attempting to use his name and life story in any manner.
