An Afghan suicide bomber targeted a security forces convoy in the Baka Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, the military’s media affairs wing stated on Monday.

The death toll from the Bannu suicide attack increased to two after a motorcycle-borne attacker targeted a convoy of security forces, said ISPR.

Two civilians were martyred while 10, including three soldiers, were injured when a security forces convoy was targeted by an Afghan suicide bomber, affiliated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu District, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.

The unfortunate incident took place on Sunday in the Bakka Khel area of the Bannu district, ISPR said, adding that the suicide bomber was on a motorcycle when he exploded himself.

Out of the injured, seven were civilians while three were soldiers, the ISPR said.

According to ISPR, the sanitisation operation was being carried out in the area to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave civilians and soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” said the ISPR.
