Aseefa Bhutto Zardari elected MNA unopposed from NA-207 Benazirabad 1

Aseefa made her political debut on November 30, 2020, at a PPP rally in Multan.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was elected as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) unopposed from NA-207 Benazirabad (former Nawabshah) 1 constituency.

On Friday, the Returning Officer (RO) declared Aseefa victorious in a notification, after all opposing candidates withdrew their nomination papers.

Aseefa clinched the seat from the constituency of NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad-I, which was vacated by her father Asif Ali Zardari after being elected as the president of the country.

Aseefa expressed gratitude on the microblogging platform ‘X’, after being declared winner from NA-207.

She stated, “I pledge to serve all my constituents to the best of my abilities, with dedication and irrespective of political affiliation.”

Aseefa also extended her gratitude to the people of her constituency, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers and media organisations for their unwavering support from the initial nomination stage until the final publication order.

Aseefa had run the party’s electoral campaign ahead of the February 8 polls. She was seen leading various rallies single-handedly to seek support for her brother Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari — the party’s then-candidate for the prime minister’s post.
