COAS General Bajwa holds farewell meetings with President and Prime Minister

General Bajwa is all set to retire tomorrow (November 29) after completing his six-year stint as army chief.

COAS General Bajwa held farewell meetings with President and Prime Minister on Monday.


Outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa held farewell meeting with President Dr. Arif Alvi at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

While prime minister also hosted a luncheon in honour of the outgoing army chief.

Earlier in the day, during the meeting PM Shehbaz Sharif and General Bajwa discussed issues of bilateral interest and professional matters.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded General Bajwa’s services for country’s defence and expressed best wishes for him.

Outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will hand over the “baton of command” to General Asim Munir,tomorrow, Nov 29.

General Asim Munir has been appointed as the 11th Chief of Army Staff.

He was chosen to lead the country’s sentinels by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on November 24.
