Farooq Sattar invites Miftah Ismail to join MQM-P, sources

On June 24, Former finance minister and PML-N stalwart Miftah Ismail left the party and resigned from all posts of the party.

Farooq Sattar has invited Miftah Ismail to join MQM Pakistan, sources claimed on Sunday.

As reported, Dr Farooq Sattar in a meeting with PML-N’s estranged leader Miftah Ismail, invited him to join MQM-Pakistan.

The MQM-P’s most senior member in Pakistan, Farooq Sattar, called on Miftah Ismail at his residence in Karachi two days ago.

“When Pakistan is passing through in existing adverse circumstances it is necessary to form a team of good people,” a news source quoted Farooq Sattar saying.

“A joint national agenda is necessary for the country,” the MQM-P leader said. “I discussed this national agenda in the meeting with Miftah Ismail,” he said.

“I told him that presently no political platform is better than the MQM-P”, a news source quoted Farooq Sattar saying.

The source added that Miftah Ismail responded saying that he would reply after considering it.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) removed Miftah Ismail from the party’s office earlier this year in June after that time Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told a gathering in Lahore that there was no room for those criticizing and backstabbing Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

On June 24, former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Miftah Ismail left the party and resigned from all posts of the party.

In a letter written to the PML-N secretary general, Miftah stated: “Given the upcoming reorganization of the party structure, I think it’s time for me to make official what is already true and move on. I, therefore, tender my resignation as General Secretary of PML-N Sindh and also resign from all party committees.”
