Federal cabinet approves Rs 1.68 per unit increase in electricity price!

According to details, the cabinet approved the increase in electricity prices through a circulation summary.

The Ministry of Energy had sent a summary of the increase in electricity prices to the Cabinet.

The cabinet’s decision has come at a time when the entire country is in the grip of the worst inflation, and petrol price is also likely to increase from October 16.

As being reported, OGRA has sent a summary of the increase in prices of petroleum products up to Rs 10 per liter to the Petroleum Division.

According to sources, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 5.90 per liter while the price of diesel has been proposed to be increased by Rs 9.75 per liter. The final decision on the revision in the prices of petroleum products will be taken in consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The new prices will be announced after the approval of the Prime Minister. The reasons for the increase in petroleum products are the rise in the price of crude oil in the world market.

It may be recalled that last month the price of petrol was increased by Rs 4 per liter. Apart from petrol, the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs 2 per liter, light diesel by Rs 8.82 per liter, and kerosene by Rs 7.5 per liter.

After the hike in prices of petroleum products, the new price of petrol was Rs 127.30 per liter while high-speed diesel was Rs 122.4, kerosene Rs 99.31, and light diesel Rs 99.51 per liter.
