PTI leader’s Firdous Shamim Naqvi disrespectful statement sparks public anger
Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi has landed himself in hot water after making controversial statements against the people killed in Tezgam train inferno.
According to the details, the incident that sparked public anger happened at a local mosque in Mirpurkhas where Firdous Shamim Naqvi along with other party leaders came to extend his condolences to the bereaved families of Tezgam train tragedy and to offer Jummah prayers.
As per the reports, the brawl started when the Naqvi made disrespectful remarks against the deceased killed in the unfortunate incident, calling them as “illiterate”. The PTI MPA also made heated statements against the religious “Tableeghi Jamaat”.
Later, the PTI leader was grabbed and thrown out of the mosque by the people there. Naqvi, while talking about the protest, said that the incident took place due to ignorance.
Amidst the protest, people also attacked PTI leader’s Haleem Adil Sheikh’s car in Kunri tehsil of Umerkot district.
In the incident, the car windows of the PTI leader were smashed as they threw stones on it.
Sheikh was returning from a condolence visit. Though his car windows were smashed, he remained safe.
