IHC orders immediate arrest of DC Islamabad
DC Islamabad Irfan Memon is facing contempt proceedings for ordering the arrest of Shaheryar Afridi under MPO, against the IHC's orders.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ordered the immediate arrest of Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon in the contempt case initiated over the prolonged detention of PTI leaders Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance.
Justice Babar Sattar presided over a contempt case in the IHC where Islamabad’s SSP Operations and DC had been summoned in person.
Although SSP Malik Jameel Zafar appeared in person, Irfan Memon filed an exemption request through his counsel, Rizwan Abbasi.
The counsel argued before the court that the DC Islamabad was on leave in Khairpur and intends to leave for Umra soon.
However, Justice Sattar denied the exemption request and ordered all provincial IGs to arrest Memon and produce him in court immediately.

I have taken over as Deputy Commissioner Islamabad. I shall try to meet expectations of the residents of Islamabad.
Need your prayers.
