Telegram Suffers Outage In Multiple Countries

Telegram, a cross-platform mobile messaging app for smartphones and tablets for iOS, Android, and several other platforms, appears to be having outage in multiple countries on Monday evening.

The app appeared to be down and not working for a number of users, preventing some from downloading or sending images and audio.

Users from multiple countries including those from India, Australia, Myanmar, UAE, and the USA apparently faced issues while using the application.

Several users even tried to reboot their phones to solve the issue, but that didn’t work either.

Telegram via its official Twitter account has acknowledged the outage stating that the “Users in East Asia, Indonesia, India, and Australia could have experienced some connection problems. Sorry! Everything’s back to normal now.”

Telegram also shared that it has made a few changes.

With over 500 million worldwide users, over 4,000 reports were collected by DownDetector.com, which collects data regarding instances of outages over 24 hours.

According to DownDetector.com, 47% of the reports are regarding the Telegram application whereas 36% is regarding server connection and 17% are regarding the website.
