Pakistan wins final T20 match against New Zealand by 45 runs

In the final match, Shaheen Shah Afridi had something to cheer up of his maiden series as captain, taking 2-20.

Pakistan wins the final T20 match against New Zealand by 45 runs in Christchurch avoiding whitewash by 4-1.

Part-time offspinner Iftikhar emerged as the hero of the day as he produced career-best figures of 3-24.

The Kewi batting lineup struggled against the turning ball and were bowled out for 92 in 17.2 overs, making it their eighth-lowest T20 total.

The last eight wickets of the Blac Caps fell for 39 runs, with only Finn Allen (22) and Glenn Phillips (26) passing the 20 runs mark.

New Zealand were missing three of their key batters: Kane Williamson (knee injury), Devon Conway (Covid-19) and Daryl Mitchell (rested).

In the first innings the hosts restricted Pakistani batters to a low total of 134-8 with another disciplined bowling display.

Fakhar Zaman scored 33 off 16 balls.

Mohammad Rizwan departed for 38 off 38 balls.

The hosts restricted Pakistan to the lowest first-innings score by either team in the series.
