People are facing difficulties accessing social app X, former Twitter

X, formerly Twitter went down across Pakistan on Saturday evening.

Users of microblogging platform giant X, previously known as Twitter are facing disruption across the country.

As reported, users were unable to access the app in parts of Pakistan amid widespread protests against election rigging.

According to Downdetector, at least 185 reports of outage were received at 9:01 pm, which by 9:24 pm, soared to 239.

Meanwhile, cyber security watchdog, NetBlocks, also confirmed the outages citing the “live metrics” which showed a new national-scale disruption to X Pakistan.

The confirmation from NetBlocks comes after users of the platform complained of facing difficulties loading its webpage.

According to Internet tracking organization NetBlocks, a nationwide disruption in social media platform X’s (formerly Twitter) service has been reported in Pakistan due to the “escalating unrest and protests” over allegations of election fraud.

NetBlocks stated that the disruption took place “following a high-level resignation and public admission of vote manipulation by a senior election official”.
