Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio are set to star in a new ‘Karate Kid’ movie for the first time together!

Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio have starred in separate “Karate Kid” films decades apart.

The new movie of the Karate Kid franchise, from Sony Pictures, director Jonathan Entwistle and writer Rob Lieber, will premiere in theaters on Dec. 13, 2024.

While the story-plot details are being kept under wraps regarding the new movie, all that we get to know is that Ralph Macchio will reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso, whom he played in the original “Karate Kid” film trilogy starting in 1984 and brought back on Netflix’s “Cobra Kai” series.

Meanwhile, Jackie Chan will be returning to the screen portraying the role of Mr. Han, a kung fu master based on Mr. Miyagi, who coached Jaden Smith’s Dre Parker in the 2010 remake film.

Chan and Macchio, making the announcement in a video posted to YouTube, launched a global casting search for a brand new karate kid to lead the movie, inviting young actors to submit audition tapes to KarateKidCasting.com.

The “Karate Kid” franchise has become one of Hollywood’s most beloved sports sagas since its debut in 1984 and earned more than $430 million at the global box office.
