A judicial magistrate in Karachi is reported to have punished two policemen for failure to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the court.
Meanwhile, a video clip has been making rounds on social media showing a policeman mopping the court’s floor.
The officer reported to be the investigation officer of Surjani Town, was seen wearing handcuffs and mopping the floor of the court.
A judicial magistrate in Karachi ordered a police officer to mop the floor as punishment for a delay in submitting a charge-sheet in a case, according to media reports.

According to the news source, a Cop named Khalid was ordered to mop the floor outside the court while another sub-inspector Ilyas Shah was handcuffed and sentenced to seven days in prison for not following the SOPs.
A senior police officer on the condition of anonymity revealed that at least eight other policemen have submitted written complaints regarding the mistreatment by the judicial magistrate.
They have listed the instances when they were ordered to sweep the floor, paraded handcuffed, or sent behind bars by the magistrate.
