Sindh govt announces public holiday on Sept 29 on account of Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH)
Sindh government on Thursday announced a public holiday on Sept 29 on account of Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH).
Pakistan will celebrate the 12th Rabi ul Awal, the day of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth, next Friday.
“The Government of Sindh declares 12th Rabi ul Awal 1445 (AH} 29th September 2023 (Friday), Eid Milad un Nabi (SAWW) as a public holiday for all offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the government of Sindh,” the notification stated.
However, essential services throughout the province will keep operating regardless.
The third month of the Islamic calendar commenced on Monday, Sep 18, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced following a meeting of the moon-sighting committee in Islamabad.
Muslims in Pakistan each year celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabiul Awal.
The day is marked as a National Holiday with public processions, events, and seminars shedding light on the Seerah (life) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Every year, People adorned streets, buildings, and mosques with beautiful lights, decorations, and buntings.
