PSL 9: Karachi Kings outclass Lahore Qalandars keeping their hopes alive for a spot in the playoffs

Karachi Kings outclassed Lahore Qalandars in a stunning three-wicket defeat in a must-win 26th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 at National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Karachi Kings now have eight points after nine matches and need to win their last game against Peshawar Zalmi on Monday to remain in the playoff race.

Shan Masood-led side is in the fifth spot on the points after their victory against Lahore Qalandars.

However, if Islamabad United wins its match against Multan Sultans, the top four teams for the playoffs will be confirmed as United and Gladiators will qualify.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi have already booked their spot in the playoffs of PSL 9.

Kings chased a 178-run target on the last ball of the final over with Shoaib Malik hitting four off Zaman Khan.

James Vince had a blast scoring 42 runs on just 27 balls including six fours and one six, before Tayyab Abbas dismissed him.

Karachi Kings put the defending champions Lahore Qalanders to bat first after winning the toss.

Batting first, Lahore Qalandars set a total of 177 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, the Kings managed to chase down the target on the final ball of the innings, losing 7 wickets in the process.
