Pakistan U19 beat Bangladesh by five runs in a low-scoring thriller to qualify for the U19 World Cup semi-final at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on Saturday.

Bangladesh U19 needed to chase down the target of 156 in 38.1 overs to make it to the knockouts but Pakistan bowled them out for 150.

The victory leads Pakistan to become the second team from Group A of the Super Six round after India to advance to the semi-finals.

While batting first, Pakistan was bowled out for 155 runs against the Bangladeshi bowling attack.

Pakistan U19 skipper Saad Baig said that he is thankful for this win.

Saad said, “I told my team that we will defend whatever the target may be. I believed in all my bowlers. Whenever I give my plans to the bowlers, I believe they’ll go with it. We have a good team and good unity in the team, we will do our best. We have the opportunity to win the World Cup, we will do our best.”

Ubaid Shah was awarded the player of the match for his five-fer.

Congratulations are in order for Pakistan’s young guns:
