Mannat Murad Episode-1 Review: Seems like another signature project of 7th Sky Entertainment for Geo

Talha Chahour and Iqra Aziz onscreen chemistry looks crackling

Mannat Murad, 7th Sky Entertainment’s much-hyped drama finally kicks off. It seems like Mannat Murad is another signature project produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment. The drama features excellent production quality. it is penned by Nadia Akhtar and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain. It has Talha Chahour and Iqra Aziz teamed up for together first time as an onscreen couple. The other cast includes Irsa Ghazal, Noor ul Hassan, Uzma Hassan, Tipu Sharif, Faiza Gillani, and others.

The opening scene is grand depicting the massive and excellent production quality where it is a setting of an opulent wedding and Muraad is waiting for his dream bride which surprisingly is not Mannat. It is a dream sequence that gets broken by Murad’s mother’s voice. Irsa Ghazal plays Murad’s mother, who is a phenomenal character showing an over-possessive mother who all the time keeps a keen eye on her son.

Murad on the other hand seems a guy who is in love with the idea of being in love. The way he is taking care of the tiny golden hoop he finds in the elevator says much about him. Murad gets suffocated by his mother’s constant scrutiny. He is the only brother of four sisters and the way he gets treated by her mother is more or less the same for an only male child. However Irsa Ghazal has aced it with her impeccable Punjabi accent, we really love her character.

Mannat (Iqra Aziz) is the only sister as she was born after a lot of Mannat Murad which is why she is named Mannat. She applies in the same building where Murad works. The way Mannat tackles a workplace harassment issue so confidently speak volume about her guts. The cafe scene where Murad very first time lays his eyes on her and then forgets to blink. Murad is mesmerized by Mannat’s beauty.

Mannat Murad has also highlighted the depression issue, how wrongly it is perceived, and how in our part of the world mental health is neglected. In this mega episode, we have seen less of Mannat and her family and more of Murad and her over-obsessive mother and even his office colleague ( Sachal) taunts him for that. The ending scene is kinda of shocking when even Murad agrees to marry that aged woman just because of her sister but Murad’s mother loses her cool in front of guests and insults them.

Overall an enjoyable episode can’t wait to see Mannat and Murad getting along together.
