Mein Episode-3 Review: Mubashira is in bad condition

It's a good thing that the drama is highlighting the taboos related to mental health.

Mein, ARY Digital’s drama serial, has started to grow on us. It’s Ayeza Khan’s performance that has so far overshadowed other big names in the cast.

Episode 3 opens up showing Mubarasha in a fit of anger threatening Mohit for daring to divorce her. The egoist Mubashira has almost lost her sense when she sees that Mohit’s new wife is no other but her friend. She threatens to destroy them and when Mohit tries to slap her, Zaid intervenes and stops him.

Mubashira is in bad condition. She recalls what Mohit had said in front of everyone, accusing her of having personality issues. She can’t cope with the fact that her friend has backstabbed her.

In some places, the story seems a bit dragged, still stuck between Mohit and Mubashira’s divorce. Mohit’s new wife is having panic attacks. Well after knowing Mubashira’s nature she shouldn’t have had an affair with Mohit in the first place.

She is enraged yet another time when her father’s lawyer explains in detail the legal points that they can not file a case against Mohit, who has played very smartly.

It emerges that it’s Jaffer Shahab (Usman Pirzada), Mubashira’s father who has spoiled her to the extent that she can not differentiate between right and wrong. His lawyer clearly tells him that Mubashira badly needs a psychiatrist, not legal advice.

Later his business partner, Zaid’s father also advises him to do the same.

It’s a good thing that the drama is highlighting the taboos related to mental health.

Aira’s brother is discharged from the hospital, and it appears that he is under some severe stress. Zaid comes to now when he reaches the hospital the next morning and apologizes to Aira for leaving her in time of need.

Aira’s sister-in-law is insisting on her rishta thing the very next day her husband is discharged from the hospital, which is a bit over the top.

Aira opens up to Zaid about doing the job once again and he offers for her to join him at work but she clearly tells Zaid that either she would join his office, or his family officially. But that won’t be that easy for Zaid to make it happen.

Mubashira finally consults a psychiatrist and her first session is quite heartbreaking to see her opening up about her mental state.

It looks like soon we will be also witnessing sibling rivalry as Mubashira’s brother is quite a villainous character. He is startled to see Mubashira with a psychiatrist. He taunts her for being dumped by a middle-class man.

On the other hand, Mohit is being punished by being called to the police station daily over the scheme Mubashira’s father’s lawyer friend has cooked.

We wait to see how Zaid and Mubashira will end up crossing paths due to being unlucky in love while facing family and societal pressures!
